1/2 c. sugar
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
pinch of ginger
Optional spices: clove, allspice
2 egg whites
2 c. pecan or walnut halves

vegetable oil

  1. Heat oven to 250° F.
  2. Mix together sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger plus other spices as desired
  3. Beat egg whites until foamy but not stiff
  4. Combine eggs whites and sugar spice mixture
  5. Add nut halves and mix together carefully until all nuts are well coated with egg sugar mixture
  6. Spread nuts out evenly on oil coated baking pan or foil covered baking pan. Be sure nuts do not overlap
  7. Bake 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until dry

Note: store in an airtight container

May be used as topping for ice cream, as topping for salad, or as candy during Passover
