1 c. dried lentils
4 c. water
1/2 c. brown rice
1 large egg
1/2 c. wheat germ
1 T. dried minced onion
1 T. sesame seeds
1/2 t. cayenne pepper
1/2 t. ground cumin
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/2 t. dried marjoram
1 T. soy sauce
olive oil for grilling

  1. In a large sauce pan with cover, bring 4 c. water to boil, add lentils. Cover, reduce temperature and cook for 45 - 60 minutes or until lentils are soft and beginning to fall apart. Drain and set aside
  2. Cook brown rice according to package directions
  3. Beat egg
  4. Combine egg, lentils and rice
  5. Add wheat germ and other seasonings
  6. Form into patties
  7. May be pan fried in a non stick fry pan or cooked on a barbecue grill

Note: May be frozen and do not need to thaw to cook. If freezing, be sure to wrap each patty separately

Note: when cooking over a grill, these patties should be well oiled to prevent them from sticking to the grill
