Meat:
3 - 4 pounds first cut brisket
2 bay leaves
6 peppercorns
2 cloves
Sauce:
6 T. vegetable oil
3 T. dried mustard
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. ketchup
1/2 c. pineapple
- Place brisket in the bottom of a large pot with lid
- Cover with water
- Add spices
- Bring to a boil
- Cover and simmer for 45 minutes
- Turn over, cover and simmer for 45 minutes
- Turn over, cover and simmer another 45 minutes or until tender
- Remove from water and allow to cool
- Cut the meat in slices across the grain and arrange in a baking dish
- Mix together sauce ingredients
- Pour sauce over sliced meat
- Bake for 30 minutes at 350° F.
