1 c. confectioners sugar
2 T. butter
1/2 t. extract (vanilla, peppermint, orange, lemon, etc.)
2 T. water, milk or cream
- Cream butter and sugar well
- Add flavoring
- Add liquid until thin enough to spread
Note: For mocoa icing, use strong hot coffee instead of milk, water or cream and 1 t. dry cocoa powder
Note: For fruit flavorings, in addition to extract, dried lemon or orange rind can be added.
This recipe makes enough to ice about 12 - 14 cupcakes or half a cake.
