9" unbaked pie shell
1 c. pecan halves (4 oz.)
4 large eggs
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. light karo syrup
- Preheat oven to 425° F.
- Beat eggs
- Add sugar and karo syrup and beat well
- Place pecans face up in the bottom on the pie shell, placing them as close together as possible
- Pour sugar/egg mixture over the nuts, being careful to rearrange any nuts that got turned out of place
- Bake about 10 minutes
- Reduce heat to 350 ° F and bake an additional 40 minutes or until crust is golden to dark brown
Note: Pie crust recipe makes enough for two 9" pie shells. Dough can be split and the extra stored in the freezer for later use.
