9" unbaked pie shell
1 c. pecan halves (4 oz.)
4 large eggs
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. light karo syrup

  1. Preheat oven to 425° F.
  2. Beat eggs
  3. Add sugar and karo syrup and beat well
  4. Place pecans face up in the bottom on the pie shell, placing them as close together as possible
  5. Pour sugar/egg mixture over the nuts, being careful to rearrange any nuts that got turned out of place
  6. Bake about 10 minutes
  7. Reduce heat to 350 ° F and bake an additional 40 minutes or until crust is golden to dark brown

Note: Pie crust recipe makes enough for two 9" pie shells. Dough can be split and the extra stored in the freezer for later use.
